Be spiritual.
A relationship with God is of the utmost importance.
A relationship with God is of the utmost importance to us, because we believe wholeness is an experience of the mind, body, and spirit. Weekly worship services allow students the opportunity to express themselves in a positive spiritual manner while in a safe and accepting environment. We offer outstanding religious classes in which our students learn to explore their faith, develop foundational truths, and experience a deeper understanding of God. We foster this growth by empowering our students to lead out in programming, music, community service, mission trips, and on-campus church gatherings.
Monterey Bay Academy is committed to excellence in communicating Jesus Christ while teaching young people to balance academics with everyday living clearly and practically, so they will be equipped to grow in wisdom, integrity, and service.
Be passionate.
From Marine Biology to Aviation, you’ll find something to spark your passion.
Monterey Bay Academy’s location on the shores of the Pacific Ocean offers many unique electives to students that few schools can.
Marine Biology
Students have a “come alive” ocean experience in the classroom when working with an 800-gallon saltwater aquarium and actual marine life in the wet labs of the Marine Biology classroom. Students receive hands-on learning with whale watching trips in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, collecting specimens from tide pools, and visiting the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. Students learn while kayaking up the Elkhorn Slough, scuba diving in the kelp forests, and studying sea life from our very own shoreline.
Aviation
With a private airport on campus, students can participate in Aviation Ground School and learn the science behind flight. Students observe flights, touch-and-go landings, takeoffs, and grass runway landings. If there is a desire to take flight lessons, MBA will connect students with local instructors to help make their flight dreams a reality.
EMT | EMR
The pre-paramedic courses, Emergency Medical Technician and Emergency Medical Responder, are excellent electives for students desiring to work in the medical field. Students receive certification in first aid and CPR. They also learn valuable life-saving skills. Their ambulance ride along is the highlight of the class and an invaluable opportunity to see real-life medical scenarios.
SCUBA
Students who want to experience an unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves have the opportunity to take SCUBA classes on campus. Students learn safety and essential skills while earning their PADI certification in the MBA pool and take breathtaking dives off the coast of Monterey Bay.
Be extra.
You’ll find extraordinary academic options.
